Hair Loss Treatment

One day, when you look at yourself at the mirror, you find that your hair seems to thin out, and that you are losing hair at an increasing speed. It is normal for a person to lose 60-80 strands of hair in a day; however if you notice hair on the floor, bed and comb, then it means its time for some hair loss treatment.

There are many causes for hair loss; but for both men and women, heredity, stress, drugs and wrong diet are similar and most prominent reasons. Women can also suffer from female hair loss during and after pregnancy, which is usually temporary and stops within 3-6 months of the delivery.

Women don’t often need any hair loss treatment

Women usually suffer from temporary bouts of hair loss where there is no need of any hair loss treatment to stop hair loss. Usually once the cause is ascertained, and eliminated from the daily routine, hair loss tends to stop. This means that once stress is eliminated, the drugs that induce hair loss are discontinued and a right food diet with healthy food is followed, hair loss in women tends to stop.

It is usually men who require hair loss treatments as their hair loss is usually hereditary, and most prominent. In fact, it is usually men who end up bald one day after losing so much hair, while women seldom go bald. There are many treatments for hair loss available today.

Hair growth drugs are available over the counter

It is not possible to say which the best hair loss treatments are as every treatment has its own advantages and disadvantages. There are many drugs like Rogaine, Minoxidil and Finasteride which when taken regularly, can lead to a re-growth of hair. These drugs are readily available over the counter, and there is no need of any doctor’s prescription to get it.

However don’t expect any immediate results with these drugs; you have to take the drugs for a minimum of 4-6 months before you actually see any signs of hair growth on your scalp.

Some hair loss treatment that gives much better and faster results is hair transplant or hair restoration. These are surgical procedures that will have to be done by an authorized specialist or surgeon.

Wigs can be  your last, but instant resort for hair

With a hair transplant or restoration, what is basically done is to transplant clumps of healthy hair from healthy parts of the scalp to the balding areas. After some time, the transplanted hair grows to the same color and texture it had existed in the healthy portions of the scalp.

And if you want an instantaneous hair loss treatment, the best option is a wig. There are many stores selling wigs with your hair color and texture. You just have to find the best wig to match the hair color and texture of the other hairs on your scalp. So if you are losing hair or running bald, don’t worry as there sure is to be some hair loss treatment for you.
