Hair Loss Treatment

Hair loss is a problem both men and women suffer from today. It is okay to lose about 50-100 hairs a day as this is part of hair renewal. However there are many causes of hair loss like medication, chemotherapy, hormonal and nutritional factors, thyroid disease, exposure to chemicals, stress and generalized or local skin diseases. Though most of these cases of are temporary, some are permanent and require hair loss treatment.

Not only is this condition demeaning to ones composure, it can also lead to a loss of self confidence in a person. And it is mainly because of mental and emotional aspect to self confidence that has led to men and women from across the world to get the best products possible.

Natural hair loss treatments are best used in initial stages

Of the many options available, a natural treatment is the most preferred one. This is because most people are not ready to try out conventional hair growth products where there is a possibility of side effects.

There is a problem with these products; most of the time the products are not strong enough to affect the loss or to encourage new hair growth. These products are most effective when used for treating hair loss in the beginning stages. It is when the problem is not diagnosed or treated on time that natural remedies prove ineffective in treating the problem. Finding the right hair loss product to stop hair loss takes time and research.

Women are not advised to take Propecia

There are various natural hair loss products available in the market today with both herbal and nutritional hair growth substances. Usually the foundation for these formulas are nutrients like Magnesium, Zinc, Biotin and herbs like Saw Palmetto and Nettle. Unlike what is usually thought, these formulas are to be taken internally, and not applied on the hair and scalp.

If you find that hair loss treatment is not effective, then you could use the powerful medication, Propecia which is effective in promoting hair growth in men. However this drug should not be used by women as it lowers hormonal levels in the body that inhibits hair growth. Some men suffer from sexual dysfunction after taking propecia, which disappears once medication is stopped.

Rogaine is not expensive but should be bought regularly every month

Laser therapy is another popular treatment that ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. However this is an expensive, but not guaranteed form of treatment for hair loss. Hair transplants too are expensive and range from 5,000 to 10,000 dollars and also have no guarantee of successful hair regrowth.

There are also solutions like Rogaine that has to be applied to the scalp to treat the condition. Though this is not an expensive alternative, you have to buy it regularly every month. It can be said that of the lot, natural treatments are the safest and best choices for thinning hair as though slow in effect, they can promote hair re-growth safely.
